Two and a Half Men” cast’s Letterman

Two and a Half Men casts Letterman
“Two and a Half Men” to return. The three had the disadvantage of trying to play along with Letterman, in New York, from their set in Burbank. His unpredictability can make him hard enough for guests to deal with in person.

Letterman didn’t make it easy Thursday. He said of Kutcher, “Why is John Fogelberg there?,” a joke plenty of people would have missed even if he had gotten the name right: He was trying to point out that Kutcher’s beard and long hair give him a slight resemblance to a mid-’80s Dan Fogelberg, the now-deceased singer-songwriter. Paul Shaffer at least helped Letterman out with the right name.

The trio didn’t have the best material to work with, either: just a predictable Top 10 list titled “Reasons to Watch the New Season of ‘Two and a Half Men.’” Cryer got to read the only item that made us laugh (No. 5), and reading a list didn’t give them much opportunity to joke with each other.

It didn’t help that Kutcher leaned off to his left throughout the bit, probably because he’s much taller than his co-stars. But it added to their disconnect.

Letterman quipped at the end: “I think they were under the impression this was a rehearsal.” The cast’s laughter was delayed, suggesting how much they were hampered by the satellite relay.

Randy Savage Dead (November 15, 1952 – May 20, 2011)American professional wrestler and actor best known for his time with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW). He also had a short run with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). Savage held twenty championships during his professional wrestling career and is a seven-time world champion: a two-time WWF Champion.

Four-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, and one-time USWA Unified World Heavyweight Champion. Also a one-time WWF Intercontinental Champion, WWE has named Savage the greatest Intercontinental champion of all time and credited him for bringing “a higher level of credibility to the title through his amazing in-ring performances.” Aside from championships, Savage is the 1987 WWF King of the Ring and the 1995 WCW World War 3 winner. For much of his tenures in the WWF and WCW, he was managed by his real life wife, “Miss Elizabeth” Hulette.

Macho Man Randy Savage died Friday morning in Florida after suffering a heart attack at the wheel, crossing the median and crashing his Jeep Wrangler into a tree. The former pro wrestling star was 58.

Second wife Lynn Payne was a passenger during the crash and suffered minor injuries, Florida Highway Patrol told TMZ, which first reported the news. Wrestler Lanny Poffo confirmed the death of his brother, born Randall Mario Poffo, to the website.

The couple, married last May, recently celebrated their one-year anniversary. Savage died of his injuries at Largo Medical Center in Largo, Fla. Both were reportedly wearing seatbelts.

“He had so much life in his eyes & in his spirit, I just pray that he’s happy and in a better place and we miss him,” fellow wrestler Hulk Hogan said Friday on Twitter. “We miss him a lot. I feel horrible about the ten years of having no communication. This was a tough one.”

Twitter queen Alyssa Milano was also among those offering condolences, tweeting, “Rest in peace, Macho Man Randy Savage.”

“I feel so fortunate that I had a second chance to marry my first love, here where it all began,” Savage said a year ago, after his Lido Beach wedding to Payne, whom he’d met there decades before.

First wife Elizabeth Hulette, pro wrestling’s Miss Elizabeth, died of an overdose in 2003; they’d divorced in 1992.
