Russia plane crash 43 Dead – Full Video
Poor quality of aviation fuel could be one of the possible reasons why the Yak-42 plane crashed in Russia Wednesday, killing at least 43 people, an aviation industry official said.
The plane carrying an ice hockey team crashed and burst into flames shortly after take-off near Yaroslavl, some 250 km from Moscow, emergencies officials said.
The Yak-42 plane was carrying the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl ice hockey team to Belarus capital Minsk, for the start of the new Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).
“The aircraft failed to gain the required engine take-off speed and fell from a low height on a Volga riverbank. Refuelling the plane with low-quality fuel is seen as a priority reason for the engine malfunction,” the official said on condition of anonymity.
The Russian emergencies ministry said the plane had 45 people on board – 37 passengers and eight crew members. Two people – hockey player Alexander Galimov and flight attendant Alexander Sizov – survived the crash and are in hospital in critical condition.
Vanuatu Earthquake August 20, 2011
A powerful magnitude 7.5 earthquake struck off the Pacific island nation of Vanuatu, the U.S. Geological Survey reported Saturday.
It said the quake, which struck at 3:55 a.m. local time on Sunday (12:55 p.m. EDT on Saturday), was centered 38 miles southwest of the town of Port-Vila and was quite shallow, at a depth of 25.2 miles.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said the major quake had not triggered a Pacific-wide tsunami but said: “Earthquakes of this size sometimes generate local tsunamis that can be destructive along coasts located within a hundred kilometers (80 miles) of the earthquake epicenter.”
There was no immediate information of any damage or casualties, but when on land quakes of this magnitude can cause widespread and heavy damage.
The quake was followed by a weaker aftershock of magnitude 5.9 some 20 minutes later.
The Vanuatu archipelago is located on the so-called “Ring of Fire,” one of the most seismically active regions in the world. Port-Vila is the capital of Vanuatu and has an estimated population of 40,000 people.

Wayne Rooney now appears to be fully focused on having fun this offseason.
The Sun recently got its hands on some video of the Manchester United star singing karaoke in the Barbados. Wayne sings a little Queen, some Beatles, and some Oasis in the medley.
Although his vocal abilities aren’t in the same galaxy as his footballing skills, Rooney shows little hesitation in belting out song after song.
The karaoke video is also some of the first footage seen yet of Rooney’s new head of hair. The Nike star famously had a hair transplant shortly after his soccer season concluded. He tweeted a photo update just a few days ago to show his fans just how the new ‘do is coming along.

It looks like Selena Gomez is suffering from more than just a bad case of Bieber Fever. She was rushed to hospital following her adorable appearance on The Tonight Show. She complained of nausea and a severe headache and is now undergoing “routine tests.” Expect the inevitable pregnancy chatter to hit in three…two…one.

Eminem Slams On Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber In New Song
Now that he’s back to his Grammy-winning best, Slim Shady has slipped back into his diss track ways.
In his new single, “A Kiss,” a leaked track off his “Hell: The Sequel” record with Bad Meets Evil partner Royce Da 5’9, Eminem goes straight for the pop culture jugular, dissing on Lady Gaga by dredging up the old, ridiculous rumors that she is a hermaphrodite.
“Tell Lady Gaga she can quit her job at the post office/ She’s still a male lady,” he raps. “Wouldn’t f*ck her with her d*ck/ You heard it/ The verdict’s in.”
Well then. Of course, with the number one album in the world right now, Gaga probably doesn’t mind what Shady has to say.
The rapper also takes on Justin Bieber in the song, saying that “evil seeps through him,” and name checks Katy Perry — though he’s much friendlier in his address to her, to say the least.

The purported death of Ilyas Kashmiri – who also was accused of killing many Pakistanis – could help soothe US-Pakistan ties that nearly unraveled after the May 2 bin Laden raid. While it was unclear how Kashmiri was tracked, his name was on a list of militants that both countries recently agreed to jointly target as part of measures to restore trust, officials have said.
It also would be a major victory for U.S. intelligence, particularly the controversial CIA-run drone program, which began in 2005 but has been increasingly criticized by the Pakistanis amid rising anti-American sentiment in the country.
Senior U.S. officials in Washington, Islamabad and the Afghan capital, Kabul, said they could not confirm that Kashmiri was killed. Other Pakistani officials also said they couldn’t confirm it.
Described by American officials as al-Qaida’s military operations chief in Pakistan, the 47-year-old Pakistani was one of five most-wanted militant leaders in the country, accused of a string of bloody attacks in Pakistan and India as well as aiding plots in the West. He also has been named a defendant in an American court over a planned attack on a Danish newspaper that published cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad in 2005.
Washington had offered a $5 million reward for information leading to his location.
One Pakistani intelligence officer said Kashmiri was believed killed along with eight other militants in a drone strike Friday close to Wana town in South Waziristan, not far from the Afghan border. A senior Pakistani security official said there “were strong indications” of his death.
